The League of Nations set up a number of commissions which would focus on a particular issue and work with members to solve or develop those issues. There were four main areas which the League of Nations wanted to work:
- The Refugees Committee - worked to get those people who had been made homeless after the First World War, back home
- The Slavery Commission - wanted to abolish Slavery across the entire globe.
- The Health Committee - sought to improve access to healthcare around the world.
- The Mandates Commission - this administered those lands which had been taken off Germany in their former Empire
