McNamara, architect of US Foreign Policy in the 1960s, dies

Robert McNamara, the controversial US Defence Secretary under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, died today. He is probably remembered most for his role in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the escalation of US involvement in Vietnam - a policy that his own son protested against and McNamara later regretted.
