Slash and burn
Slash and burn is a type of agriculture in which farmers clear a piece of land by cutting down and burning the vegetation.
This method is often used in tropical rainforest regions to create temporary fields for farming. After a few years of cultivation, the soil becomes less fertile and the field is abandoned. The farmer then moves on to a new piece of land and the process is repeated.
This type of agriculture can have negative impacts on the environment, including deforestation, soil degradation, and air pollution from the burning. It can also contribute to climate change by releasing carbon stored in the vegetation into the atmosphere.
