USA’s air quality

For many years the USA has been seen as the black sheep of the World with regards to its lack of focus on reducing atmospheric emissions. Whilst many developed nations have tried to abide by strict pollution controls and have focused their policies on the research and implementation of "green technology" the USA has lagged behind, as it strived to increase its wealth. The USA has now finally been told that it needs to change!

After years of delay, the Obama Administration has been given a court-ordered December 1 deadline to update the current 2008 standard on ground-level ozone, a by-product of burning fossil fuels. Its proposal to toughen the ozone limit is one of several sweeping environmental efforts to be affecting the USA.

Whilst the environmental benefit is clear to see, the economic impact will be challenging as many individuals and companies will need to invest in greener technology which will mean that businesses will have to share the price hike and costs of products will increase.
