Storm Nate hits Central America

Storm Nate has killed at least 22 as landslides and floods have devastated communities.

People have died in Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica.  Yet to be classified as a hurricane, there are concerns that as it makes its way across the Gulf of Mexico, heading northwards towards northern Florida and Louisiana, that it will become a hurricane.  After Hurricane Irma where millions of people were affected, it is likely that rescue and rehabilitation in some areas of Florida will be set back as a result of this new storm.

Coastal defences along Florida's coastline have already been weakened and destroyed in many cases so it is likely that the impact will be significant.  Whilst Nate is set to hit in the northern area of Florida rather than the Keys where Irma hit, the state response is likely to be affected.  Forecasters predict that by 7pm local time, the storm will officially become a hurricane, just before it hits land.  Check out the BBC news report on the storm so far...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/worl...
