Legal action taken against the EU on climate change

A group of people from across Europe are taking the EU to court over the failure of the EU to protect the European population from the effects of climate change.

The case has been brought to the Luxembourg General Court to tackle the increasing levels of greenhouse gases being produced by the European Union.

Emission targets set by various countries are below the targets that the group see as being beneficial to human health.

There are worries over impacts on traditional agriculture, such as the changes to crops such as lavender and the effects on the indigenous Sami community who herd reindeer.  The wide ranging roles and locations of those fighting this case goes to show how important individual views are about climate change and the "everyday farming communities" are now fighting back.
