Is a Green Energy Solution in Sight?

Geoff Riley

12th September 2017

Writing in the Guardian, Jonathan Watts argues that as the cost of supplying renewable energy drops and technological change and investment makes turning solar and wind power into a more reliable source of energy, then the market has finally bought into the business case for renewable power.

Offshore wind power is now cheaper than nuclear energy according to new statistics from the National Grid. Roger Harrabin reports here for BBC news.  The price of offshore wind power has fallen by more than 50 per cent over the last two years as the scale and efficiency of giant turbines used in the sector has expanded. Naturally, Greenpeace is delighted!
