India launches programme to tackle air pollution.

The “cap and trading programme” aims to tackle the issue in the state of Gujarat.
The programme involves industries having a permit stating that they can’t send more than 150 milligrams per cubic metre of particulate matter into the atmosphere. All industries have this and are free to trade the permits amongst themselves but as a whole area, they are not able to exceed the target. This will ensure air pollution reduces.
