Germany's Birth Rate Dropping Like a Stone

Germany's birth rate has now fallen lower than even Japan's to give the country the lowest rate in the world. As an example of a Stage 5 country in the Demographic Transition, the birth rate in Germany is now lower than the death rate and total population is likely to fall unless supplemented by net in-migration. The social and economic consequences for Germany are likely to be significant.
