Geography in the News: How is Climate Change Affecting the Weather?

With record-breaking temperatures across most of southern Europe, but downpour after downpour across the UK, lots of students may be questioning whether climate change is anything to be worried about (particularly if they read particular newspapers or social media channels!).

So this BBC News article provides a nice summary of the different ways that climate change is altering our weather.

This article explains how climate change is causing longer, hotter heatwaves, longer droughts, more fuel for wildfires and more extreme rain - with some handy graphics that you can use in the classroom.
