Developing better questioning

Questioning can be an excellent way of differentiating and checking progress in a lesson. I have used the image below to help me to frame questions more effectively. As you move to the right and the bottom the types of questions are more challenging and encourage pupils to think more deeply. I have also shown this image to pupils when asking them to come up with their own questions as a starter or plenary activity.
