Brilliant interactive volcanoes web app

This amazing web app lets you examine in detail the patterns of both the number and power of all documented volcanic eruptions from the last 2000 years. The map produced by Raphael Heath contains 4 key layers.
- A heat map showing areas where there have been the most frequent eruptions of volcanoes over 2000 years.
- Another layer shows proportional circles for each of these eruptions scaled by the power of their explosion measured by the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI).
- In addition there is a layer showing all volcanoes (including those which have not erupted in recent history), and a layer showing the earth's plate boundaries.
There are so many possibilities for using this with pupils and there is even a video to show you how to use it
