Voluntary Unemployment
Voluntary unemployment refers to the situation where an individual is not working, but is able and willing to work and is actively seeking employment.
This type of unemployment can occur for a variety of reasons. For example, an individual may choose to leave their job to go back to school, or to take time off to travel or pursue other interests. In some cases, an individual may be unable to find a job that meets their needs or preferences, and may choose to remain unemployed until a more suitable job becomes available.
Voluntary unemployment is generally considered to be a choice that is made by the individual, rather than being forced upon them by external circumstances.
