Trade openness

Trade openness is one measure of the extent to which a country is engaged in the global trading system. Trade openness is usually measured by the ratio between the sum of exports and imports and gross domestic product (GDP). The extent to which an economy engages in international trade and allows free flow of goods, services, and capital.
