Parental Leave Directive

A Directive is an EU law that must be applied in all EU member states. The main provisions in the Parental Leave Directive are:

Mothers can share the “leave” after the birth of a child with the father
Protection of workers who request parental leave
Unpaid parental leave is up to 18 week
