Low carbon sectors are industries in an economy such as offshore wind, onshore wind, solar photovoltaic, hydropower, other renewable energy, bioenergy and energy efficient lighting and vehicles that contribute to a nation's GDP but emit and substantially lower level of carbon emissions per unit of output than other industries.
