Insourcing
Insourcing refers to the practice of a company producing goods or services in-house rather than outsourcing them to external suppliers or contractors. Insourcing can involve bringing production or other processes back in-house that had previously been outsourced, or it can involve developing new capabilities in-house. Companies may choose to insource certain activities for a variety of reasons, including to gain more control over their operations, to improve quality, or to reduce costs. Insourcing can be contrasted with outsourcing, which is the practice of hiring external companies to provide goods or services that are typically produced in-house.
