Emerging economies
An emerging economy is one that can’t yet be classified as ‘developed’ and is investing heavily in its productive capacity. The largest emerging economies (GDP at PPP) are still the BRICs, that is, Brazil, Russia, India and China. We also consider the CIVETS (Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa) and the MINT economies (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey).
