A measure of unemployment, in which the number of people claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) is counted.
To receive JSA, a person must:
Be over 18 years old and not in full-time education
Be available to work and actively seeking work
Have less than £16 000 in household savings
Not be working more than 16 hours per week, or have a partner who is working more than 24 hour
