Teaching Activity: The Average Wage Game

The purpose of the ‘Average Wage’ game is to provoke discussion amongst students about how wage rates are determined in different industries and the relative value of each job to the citizens of an economy.
Students are given 14 different jobs and asked to divide them into those that they think have an average wage rate above the national average and those whose average wage is below this figure.
