A short study note on economic inactivity
What is economic inactivity?
Economic inactivity is that section of the working age population which is not in employment and is not actively seeking employment. These persons are therefore not part of the working population.
Main reasons for economic inactivity:
- Student
- Looking after family or home
- Long-term sick
- Retired
