This teaching powerpoint for Edexcel covers Quantitative Easing.
Quantitative easing (QE) is a form of expansionary monetary policy. It is a process in which the central bank purchases assets like government bonds from the market. The goal of QE is to increase the money supply and encourage lending and investment, which in turn, should boost economic activity. It's been used in the UK and other countries in recent years as a way to combat the effects of the financial crisis and the resulting recession.
