Where and What Is U.S. Trading Internationally?

My A2 students are looking at trading blocks and we came across this excellent series of graphics from the WSJ. As the US is part of NAFTA it’s no surprise that Canada and Mexico top the list for destination of US exports and, along with China, those two countries are where Americans primarily source their imports from.
China’s imports to the US is what makes the headlines so it’s interesting to see China’s increasing importance as a consumer of US goods and services. See graph below and source.
