What the poverty figures show

There is an interesting piece here in the Guardian by Julia Unwin from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation about the latest UK poverty and inequality figures. Crucially she flags up reforms needed in the welfare benefits system skills training, availability of child care and low pay / living wages - four areas where reforms can make a big difference, albeit with a potentially hefty price tag.
