Welcome to the GCSE Economics blog

Jim Riley

24th May 2009

This is the first entry on what we hope will become a really useful source of teaching and study resources for GCSE Economics.

There has never been a better time to offer GCSE Economics. Renewed interest in the subject and significant growth in course uptake for AS, A2, IB and Pre-U Economics means that economics departments around the UK and internationally are enjoying a rennaissance. The new GCSE Economics specifications (for first teaching from September 2009) also provide an opportunity to refresh the subject at this level.

Many colleagues will be teaching GCSE Economics for the first time. Other colleagues have the benefit of many years of engaging GCSE students with our wonderful subject. All teachers and students are welcome to share and participate in this GCSE Economics blog. We welcome contributions, either as blog authors or via the entry comments system.

Don’f forget to sign up to the GCSE Economics RSS feed - where Google sends you a daily update on any new content added to the blog.

We also recommend that you join the over 4,000 Economics teachers who receive tutor2u’s regular Economics Resource Email Newsletters.
