Update on working walls
28th November 2011
For all of the delegates at the TEBBLE conferences this year I thought I’d give an update on the state of my classroom walls.
I currently have four working walls.
1. The ever popular Cool Wall
2. A business wall which shows whether companies are being successful or nearing bankruptcy. Currently Kodak and Thomas Cook are fairing the worst on that wall. There is also an opportunity for students to decide if a company is ethical or not
High profits Bankruptcy
Ethical (Angel)
Not ethical (Devil)
3. An economics fiscal policy solutions wall where students debate whether government actions to reduce the UK’s debt are good or bad. Currently the plans to cut over 600,000 public sector jobs by 2015 is considered the worst policy so far although I fear I might have influenced that one a little!
4. Finally I have a wall in my department for teaching and learning where whenever someone tries a new teaching technique they decide whether it was successful or not.
Successful Not successful
Time consuming to prepare
Not time consuming to prepare
If anyone has come up with any other good working walls I would be delighted to hear, you can tell me via my new listing on twitter!
