24th July 2014

A new online comedy series launches on Thursday 24th July! The series tells the story of Scott and Adrian, two lovers on the verge of break up. Scott runs an oil company – bath oils that is – and Adrian spends their money as if it’s his own. Will they work things out or will Scott go it alone? All will be revealed when the series launches this August in time for the Scottish independence referendum.

United Queendom is created by filmmaker Bob Denham, inspired by the desire to represent politics ‘as if real people were involved’. The series is apolitical: ‘I just felt the whole debate was missing something very British – Humour’.

Bob’s last online comedy, 'A Very European Break Up', about the European debt crisis received over 300,000 views and featured in national and international press in Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, and Spain – to name a few.

Scott is played by Glasgow-born Damien Hughes who was attracted to the quirky take on politics: ‘Politics is both incredibly important and incredibly ridiculous. People are really starting to wonder who these people are that run our countries.’

Adrian is played by English actor Daniel Page who immediately fell in love with the script and the concept: ‘Politics should be poked fun at. I think it is actually a way of people engaging and in a way understand what is going on’.

Episodes:

  1. #1 - SCOTT'S INDEPENDENCE - Scott thinks about going alone for the first time
  2. #2 - ADRIAN'S WALL - In response, Adrian puts up barriers of his own
  3. #3 - THE SCANDINAVIAN MODEL - Scott invites one of their neighbours, she's an inspiration
  4. #4 - DECISION TIME - Adrian puts it to Scott: 'In or out - once and for all'
