Unit 2 Macro: Long Term Unemployment - A Human Story

If you ever come across a student who naively and unthinkingly claims that many of the unemployed stay out of work because of choice or because they are better off on benefits, then show them this remarkable story from Channel 4 news about a 48 year old visually impaired man caled Stephen Stubbs living in a region of above average unemployment who has filed more than 1,500 job applications over the lat two years. Then, at last, he gets a glimmer of hope.
