UK finally joins the Euro Zone (well, a bit of the UK)

It has been a long time coming. However, a part of the UK mainland has now informally joined the Euro Zone by adopting the Euro, sitting alongside the British Pound as an acceptable currency in which to trade.

Could it be a publicity stunt by Bournemouth Council to highlight the attractions of the area to European tourists flushed with cash? Quite possibly. But at least the kids will be able to spend the Euro’s we’ve accumulated over the years when they journey down to Dorset for their annual week with the grandparents this July.

The transition to using the Euro currency in Bournemouth seems to be going quite smoothly! Wonder how long that will last?
