UK Economy - Electric Car Charging Infrastructure Lags Behind

This BBC article looks at the fact that the move to electric cars is going to require a charging network and the various options available, from rapid charging points, to lamppost charging points and so on. At present, the UK lags behind it its provision of the appropriate electric car infrastructure, but there are a number of ways we can improve this.

BT are going to start a pilot scheme turning old street cabinets into electric vehicle charging points, an interesting way of updating technology to adapt to the modern economy, at a time when the government are trying to accelerate the installation of the electric car charging network.

In related news ...... The EU is intervening in the market for electric batteries and other green technologies, such as heat pumps and solar panels, in an attempt to see of Chinese competition. It is offering nearly 4 billion euros to a variety of firms with Swedish battery producer receiving over 900m euros.
