Tutor2u on Tour - Giggleswick School
28th June 2013
It was a great delight today to motor across some of Yorkshire's most beautiful dales to pay a brief visit to Giggleswick School and meet their Economics, Business Studies and Politics team led by Housemaster Steve Robertson. In 2012 the school celebrated the five hundredth anniversary of the foundation - it later received a royal foundation in 1553. Even on a damp morning with the mist lying low to the ground Giggleswick's stunning setting was immediately apparent. The exams are over and the prospect of a long summer holiday is tantalisingly close for staff and students. Giggleswick has always been a strong supporter of Tutor2u over the years and we chatted about current and future plans in our core subjects as well as demonstrating the growing range of PowerPoint games that can engage and challenge students in virtually any subject domain. We are delighted that some of our new PowerPoint resources developed by Jonny Clark and Graham Prior will be included in a whole-school CPD event at the start of the new school year in September. Here is a selection of photos from our visit. For me the two highlights were opportunities to visit the stunning chapel at the top of the hill and to stroll across an immaculate XI cricket outfield which nestles directly below the chapel, it is a quite gorgeous setting. The dome roof of the chapel features at the top of this blog.Is there a more beautiful view (despite the mist!) than the first picture below taken from the window of one of the business studies classrooms?
