Tokyo ‘most expensive expat city’

Having just spend two days in Paris with 32 Year 8’s, I found myself looking for newspaper articles that show just how expensive it is to go to Europe right now due to the weak pound. The look of horror on my students face when they realised a McDonalds meal cost about £7 was a sight to be seen!

It turns out however that there are other cities which are much more expensive than Paris with Tokyo topping the list. This article from the BBC is brilliant for talking about the effect of the exchange rate on expats. Click read more for a video from the BBC website. It could be used as a starter for a lesson on exchange rates.
