Description of the Job

To lead and manage the development of Economics within the Senior School.

To deliver the teaching of Economics and Business Studies from Y12 to Y13.

To carry out the role of form tutor.

To be involved in co-curricular activities.

Essential & Desirable Experience and Qualifications

Essential

An undergraduate degree (2:2 or above) in Economics or related field.

Qualified Teacher Status.

The teaching of Economics and Business Studies to A Level.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good listening and conflict resolution skills.

High levels of leadership ability.

Vision and the ability to plan strategically.

Ability to work collaboratively.

Administrative, organisational and ICT skills.

The ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.

A positive attitude towards children and young people.

The ability to motivate children to be the best that they can be.

Knowledge of child safeguarding principles.

Subject knowledge sufficient to stretch and challenge able Year 13 students.

Working knowledge of the current assessment demands of exam boards.

Use of ICT in teaching and learning.

A positive attitude towards children and young people including the ability to demonstrate and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour.

Ability to adapt to changing situations and to manage time effectively.

Dedicated, conscientious and hard working with an excellent health and attendance record over the last two years.

High professional standards.

Additional undergraduate subject qualifications.

Knowledge of Child Protection.
