Description of the Job

An opportunity has arisen for a creative and enthusiastic teacher to join the Business and Economics Department at the King’s School. This position would equally suit an experienced teacher, who wants to develop their potential further, or an NQT who is looking for an excellent start to their career. The willingness to be trained as an Economics teacher (or to be able to offer Economics) as well as teaching both GCSE and A-Level Business is desirable.

Essential & Desirable Experience and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Business/Economics or related subjects

Qualified Teacher Status

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Willingness to become an exemplary classroom practitioner

Teaching Business GCSE and/or A Level

An awareness of curriculum issues relating to Business

Meeting the needs of students with special educational needs and the gifted and talented

Awareness and promotion of the use of key skills and PLTS in the curriculum

Pastoral work in a school setting

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Teaching Economics A-Level

An awareness of curriculum issues relating to Economics

Internal assessment of controlled assessment/coursework

Knowledge of school self evaluation processes
