teachECON 2010 comes into view!
3rd October 2010
In just over a week I will be packing my bags and heading north for the first teachECON2010 workshop at the elegant Midland Hotel in Manchester (home for the Labour Party conference last week!)
Ruth Tarrant and I have been working hard on the programme for the day and the teaching resources for the delegates to try and discuss are coming together nicely. Our aim is to try a canny mixture of starters, experimental exercises and other activities that appeal to students with different learning styles.
You can book places at teachECON 2010 here
Here is a flavour of some of the content.
And in a major post-lunch session we will be looking at the ways in which different genres of audio-visual resources can be used to illuminate, challenge and reinforce economic principals and as a basis for reflective assignments. As always the ideas and energy of those attending will be really important and we plan small group plenaries to crowd-source ideas for a cluster of tricky topics…... so eight days left and I am already greatly looking forward to being in Manchester and then London a week later.
