Spring/Summer 2024 Economics Student Competition Winners
29th August 2024
The winners of our most recent competition from the Economics Update magazine have been announced! Students were asked to produce a creative response on the theme of "the most influential economist".
It was so difficult to choose one overall winner that we have decided to award a joint first place. This is shared between Rani Patel of Notting Hill and Ealing High School, and Vadym Votintsev of the National Mathematics and Science College. Rani wrote an interview script “transcribing” an interview with Adam Smith in a modern context, and Vadym produced a slick video on the work of Paul Samuelson. We absolutely loved their entries!
We are also awarding three Highly Commended Prizes. Flo Mercer of Runshaw College produced a fabulously artistic cake. Ethan Davis of Barnard Castle School wrote a well-researched essay on Arthur Pigou. Lily Townend of Hitchin Girls School wrote a detailed critical analysis of Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics.
Huge thank you all students who entered and to teachers for supporting their entries. We look forward to launching our next competition in a few weeks' time when the next edition of the Economics Update Magazine is launched.
