Social Safety Nets to Support Growth and Development

10 per cent of the world's population live in countries that are not covered by social safety net systems and only one third of the poor in the world are covered. Social safety nets in the form of cash, food grants, education and health services, nutritional programmes, and public works that provide temporary jobs.
