Sandwich firm shed thousands of jobs as demand falls away

2,000 jobs have gone at one of the UK's largest sandwich making firms, Adelie Foods, which has shutdown in the wake of the pandemic.
In normal times, the company supplied supermarkets, coffee chains, cafes and catering companies. However, with few people going to work or shopping for sandwiches, and little prospect of the business returning to normal any time soon, the company has gone under.
Expect a negative multiplier effect...
