Rising numbers for A level Economics

Further evidence of a pick up in the number of students taking A level economics. In 2009 the cohorts of students taking maths, further maths and economics soared by 12%, 15% and 13% respectively. 36% of A level Economics students secured an A grade (up from 35% last year). There were 21,000 economics students finishing their course last year compared to 18,500 for Business Studies. There was also a hugely encouraging upturn in the number f students opting for Politics.
