Renewables - Could floating solar farms survive out at sea?

11th January 2023
Innovation in renewable energy is featured here with engineers looking at whether floating solar farms are feasible. If they are, then it would seem to be a logical solution to providing power for island nations such as Indonesia. Indonesia is a nation of more than 10,000 islands, so supplying the whole country with electricity is a huge challenge
The energy transition isn’t easy for space-constrained nations like Singapore, where gas dominates.

One solution is offshore solar & this👇 is one of the world’s largest offshore floating solar farms. Much more is needed, but it’s amazing to see. @sunseap_group @EdpRenewables pic.twitter.com/JBAY7gLFQ1
A similar project has been established in Singapore.
