REDD Programme - Protecting Forests as a Common Access Resource

This World Bank clip combines a couple of relatively tricky economic concepts forests - as common access resources - and the impact of climate change on these scarce resources.
This clip highlights the World Bank's REDD+ programme which is trying to work with indigenous communities to protect this important resource against biodiversity. And if you listen closely, you'll spot what the single most important aspect of protecting this resource is. Land rights. In short, the preservation of common access resources is always made easier if property rights are assigned.
