Recession hits Tenerife beaches

As schools break up for the long-awaited summer hols, all is not well in paradise. In Tenerife, 75% of income is from tourism, and the recession in Europe means that bookings on the island are down on last summer. The weakness of the pound against the Euro has also hit demand from UK tourists for whom Tenerife has long been a favoured destination. This video looks at the businesses affected on the sunshine island
