Our racing correspondent Graham Watson reports that Quantitative Easing won the 2.55 Maiden Hurdle at Newcastle by 5 lengths at a starting price of 1-2 Favourite.

“Held up in midfield, smooth headway to lead just after 3 out, quickened clear, on bridle run-in, readily.”

Graham comments: “Given this assessment of the race is really does sound like it was a case of ‘printing money’ for the professional punter. This might be one to follow in the coming months; I wonder if the Bank of England took a £200bn plunge on it?”
