Private Trees for Nepal’s Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development

This World Bank clip looks at how Nepal has managed to increase forest cover from 25% to 46% in the last 25 years, an almost unprecedented feat. Indeed, the government is committed to maintaining forest cover at that level going forward. Perhaps most remarkably though, it isn't government planting that's brought this about, it's the government incentivising private planting, with Nepalis realising the private benefits of tree planting and this also has significant social benefits too.
