Picturenomics - the funny version
19th October 2010
Seeing Geoff’s very useful picturenomics posts reminded me of my own picture that I use as a light-hearted end to teaching the determinants of demand.
I then get the students to draw their own versions of what I call “sneaky” ways of a business increasing demand for its products. The first time I did it, half the groups had doctors as snipers on the hospital roof so I tell subsequent groups that I want something a bit more original! I usually have a small prize for what I consider the best idea, generally the closer it is to being legal the more favourably I look at it. The educational value of it is probably limited…but its a great way to spend the last 15 minutes of a lesson!
By the way, must credit my wife for the original artwork - is far beyond what I could produce…
