Part-Time Workers Mask Unemployment Woes – Interactive map

After seaching UK newspaper websites for interesting economic articles with limited success, I decided to cross the sea and take a look at what is happening in America.

I came across this brilliant interactive unemployment map of the US.

It shows unemployment figures are even worse than feared as some measurements don’t take into account that as many as 1 in 5 workers have to take part time hours, even though they would like to work full time. This is an aspect of unemployment that is rarely thought about but still has a tangible impact on the economy.
