Obama economist looks at new rules for soccer

Richard Thaler – author of the book Nudge and one of Obama’s economic advisers – has come up with some novel ideas of his own to make soccer an easier sport to administer.
Thinking about how to improve the sport’s regulations comes naturally to economists, especially after a few beers, because some of the same principles should be applied to economic regulation. Some of his ideas involve –
*adding referees
*use of technology,
*redefine offside,
*rethink penalties,
*reduce faking.
