Natural Capital: The Wealth of a Wetland

Here is a World Bank clip looking at the importance of wetlands to sustainable development in Uganda, and tangentially the issue of how we measure development itself. It is also clear that there are positive externalities generated by proper management of wetland environments. Wetlands for example help to purify water and also act as a carbon sink. But wetland coverage is shrinking posing key challenges for sustainable growth in Uganda.
