National Happiness and GDP limitations
24th January 2021
As part of their theme 2 studies, Edexcel A-level Economics students need to have an understanding of the limitations of using GDP as an indicator of living standards. Part of this involves exploring the topic of National Happiness; what it means, and how it can be measured.
The following video, which focuses on Finland and Denmark, provides an excellent introduction to the topic and is perfect for use as part of remote delivery.
The 2020 World Happiness report can be downloaded here with chapter 7 building on the contents of the video.
