Meet the UK Interest Rate Setters!

13th September 2015
I especially wanted to read this article because Martin Weale - who has been on the Monetary Policy Committee for nearly six years - was my Tutor at Cambridge and encouraged me to move into teaching nearly thirty years ago!
The MPC voted 8-1 last month to keep policy interest rates at their current level of 0.5% but in the coming months the expectation is that the vote to start edging rates higher will become closer. It is good for students to know a little more about the background of the group that makes the key interest rate decision in the UK.
